Terms and Conditions:

The University will refund the accommodation advanced rental to the student if the student’s status is withdrawn for academic reasons, does not meet requirements, declined the accommodation offer, or is disqualified as a student at UNMC.
Any overpaid for early checkout is only refunded to residents if they complete the checkout process and after the inspection of the room is carried out.
The overpaid can be used to set off against any outstanding rental, and electricity charges for air conditioners due and owing and/or to indemnify the cost of damage to hostel rooms, facilities and amenities provided by the hostel management.
Refunds of overpaid will not be in CASH.
The overpaid refund will only be deposited into the local or foreign bank account provided by the student. For international transfers, the bank charge will be borne by the payee.
You will receive the payment advice notification from HSBC Bank with the details after the refund has been successfully credited to your account.
The refund process will take about fourteen (14) working days up to twenty-one (21) working days upon a successful refund request.

For International Student - Any overpayment of fee will be subjected to the following refund options:

A maximum amount RM5000 to be transferred to the local (Malaysian) bank account (one time only) and the rest of the balance (if any) will be offset against the next rental billing payable or transferred back the student’s home country. If you would like to transfer the balance overpaid to your home country, please help to request new refund and select International bank account.

Transfer all the amounts overpaid to the student’s home country and all bank charges for such overseas transfer will be borne by the payee.

This is a newly implemented Finance procedure, in accordance with the ruling established by Bank Negara Malaysia with regards to “Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing (Amendment) Act 2014”. We as the “Reporting Institution” under the mentioned act would be liable for charges, which may be issued under this act. As a risk mitigating measure, we have set out this new procedure. This applies to the international student only when the funds are remitted into the country.
